Best comic book movie ever. To me, that sums everything up. This is one of the few times in my life I’ve felt that a movie has lived up to all the hype, and then some. Although I would have liked to have seen a scene at the end of the movie with The Joker in Arkham Asylum meeting Harley Quinn (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harley_Quinn), but given the circumstances, I can’t complain that we didn’t get that. However, aside from that, I wouldn’t change a thing about this movie. Heath Ledger really captured the essence of what The Joker character is all about: being an “agent of chaos”. And my GOD the visual job they did with Two-Face. Frightening is the best term I can use to describe it. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, you have to. And if you have seen it, you should go see it again.
The only problem with this movie is that I don’t think there’s any way that they can top it. No matter what, the third movie will be a decline from this one. The only thing they can hope for is that it’s better than the first one (Batman Begins), and that’s still a pretty big task, in my opinion. The other issue with the next movie is, what villain to use? Do you try to make darker characters out of The Riddler or The Penguin? Or do you try to go the route of Batman Begins and use some of your lesser known villains like The Mad Hatter or Clay Face? My guess, is that they’ll probably do something with Catwoman and another villain, which could make for a decent movie, but they’ll have to do something real special with it to make it anywhere as close to The Dark Knight.
And it’d probably be best to leave Robin out of it….Holy pile of bird $4!7, Batman!
