Tattoos.....I love them...and truth be known...if I had a ton of money, I would have a lot more of them. I have quite a few at the moment. None of which I regret...well, so maybe the typical girly butterfly when I was 19 was not a good idea...but it's part of me...and even still I smile at it. I encourge everyone who gets body art to think about it and make sure it is really something you want...do not become one of those bad facebook memes.
My last tattoo I received was a band logo...AVATAR....a Swedish death metal band...from Gothenburg, Sweden....I had never heard of them before they played Beaumont last Februray with Sevendust...I immediately loved them...and started listening to all of their music...amazing band...and the night they played mean't a lot to me...so that is why I chose to get their logo forever put on my body.
Currently Avatar is on tour with Avenged Sevenfold in Europe..and hopefully will have a new album arriving in 2014.
Speaking of A7X....that is the next tattoo I really want....but, the exact design...has to be special...I do not want a generiic fan tat...I think on it everyday...and want somthing that incorporates the deathbat, a REV tribute and the band in general...
Body Art a wonderful thing.
Pshhsh....and the Boss says I slack.....Does it look like I am slacking!! Somebody has to eat this sucker!!
OK...by now you all know of my love of Avenged Sevenfold...I mean you should...a A7X fan is unlike any other....I compre it to being in the KISS Army or An Iron Maiden fan. This past October, some friends, family and I caravaned to all of the Texas dates of the "Hail to the King Tour" in Texas....Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio....this is what I love about rock music fans.....they will go where the band goes to see a show...make great effots, spend and ton of money and make it happen all for a love of a band and the show!
If you have never attended an A7X show....please do when you have the chance...you will never forget it...The stage set, the entertainment...the fun...etc....
We had many adventures on this trip, many for which I cannot talk about...but good times and laughs were had by all....and by laughs....I felt the strong need to make a special banner for the San Antonio show...a banner unlike any other....you will the the pictures below...
All three of the tour stops were fantastic!!! and all except the Woodlands(Houston Show) I was right in front of the stage...in front of Synyster Gates...which was my mission the whole trip!! Mission Acomplished!!!!...If you are a new A7X show goer they will "Welcome you to the Family".
I must say the creepiest thing that happened on this trip was a girl that I would say is in her mid twenties telling me she wrote A7X fan-fiction...and she kept referring to Synyster Gates as her "husband"...that was really really awkward...poor girl...fan fiction....that is some messes up, sad, creepy s*%4!
I must say Thanks to the Travelodge in San-Antonio for the pillowcase we used to make a sign!...LOL....it generated many laughs...and coined the trip phrase "Take Off Your Pants". "Bat Country" is now known to me as the "Take Off Your Pants" song. Being in the front holding that "Take Off your Pants" banner...unforgettable...
I managed to get a Syn Gates guitar pick(Score) and I strongly believe Syn Gates and his germs...from his...mouth beer fountain in San Antonio...is why I was sick for two weeks with a horrible cough/flu. Thanks for the pick and germs Syn Gates!!! C'mon you would love it too if Syn Gates spit beer and it ended up all over your face!!!
All and all AMAZING BAND, AMAZING SHOWS, AMAZING TIME....A7X foREVer!
I still wonder though....is Johnny Christ wearing my hotpink and black lace panties....we may never know...
I cannot wait untile summer...when again the Deathbats will Assemble!...
Don't forget to keep listeing for those cues to text in and win on-air and to qualify for the A7X British Invasion!! and Follow A7X on twitter....at every tour stop...they leaave prizes at special places for fans! How Cool is that!!!
December 28, 2009, a date no A7X fan will forget...the passing of The REV. How could this be? A band finnally that is amazing, and has done so well...and then....the Untimely passing of the bands founding member, James Owen Sullivan....Tragic, Sadness, and Uncertaity...What Now?
When A7X said that they would finish the Nightmare album and tour....I was happy...but who...on God's green earth...could ever fill the shoes of the REV? No one...no one...will ever...is the anwser to that...but, luckily Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater stepped in with the guys for the Nightmare tour...and "So Far Away" which Syn Gates orginally started writting for his grandfather became and ode to the REV....as well as, "Fiction", the last song the REV worked on before his death...amd hearing the lyrics...it's quite uncanny and chilling.
The time is now....the 2013 Avenged Sevenfold "Hail to the King" Tour is almost underway, starting tomorrow October 3 for a trek of three weeks in the US! This is a big day for me! I have been an Avenged Sevenfold fan since I first caught wing of their music....and believe it or not I have NEVER seen the band live..........I know...and extreame injustice!!! It all began, when a promo pacakage came to the studio in 2005 containing a t-shirt with the deathbat logo....I thought...immediately....cool shirt...I must hear this band....and that is when I heard "Beast and the Harlot" from the Cities of Evil Album...and fell in love with the sound....especially the mad guitar skillls of Synyster Gates and the Drum Magic of the Rev. Since that day, A7X has had my Soul.
I am pretty sure I wore that promotional deathbat t-shirt at least once a week unil it finally wore out. For some reason over the years, I became busy and never got to see Avenged Sevenfold live...there was a point in 2008 when the played the Warehouse in Houston and I remember wanting to go, but something came up. I was saddened.
In 2007 the self-titled Avenged Sevenfold Album was released....another win for the guys! This band, this band was a band I could listen to every track on the album and find fault in none of their songs....I had never had a band I could not find fault with until A7X! The became my FAVORITE BAND!
So...here we are presant day...when it was announced that Avenged Sevenfold was coming out with a new album and tour....I awaited the dates....This time...I would not miss seeing my favorite band....I regret I never got to see the REV live...this tour...I will regret nothing. Three glorious Texas dates on the Hail to the King Tour! October 18 The Woodlands, October 19 Dallas-American Airlines Arena, and October 20 San Antonio-AT&T Arena...YES...I have spent a small fortune on tickets...BUT, I will be at all three shows! Even though I cried when I could not get pit tickets for the Woodlands...I managed to get pretty good seats...(yes...I really did cry about that) and GA Floor for the Arenas....so I am hoping to make my way past the heavy make-up ladden little girls and get a great view. Wish me Luck! I have seen a lot of bands, been to so may shows I can't remember them all...but, unlike most...THESE A7X shows mean the world to me...so with a trip that could be like the movie "Detroit Rock City mixed with Almost Famous" I AM READY TO SEE MY FAVORITE BAND IN THE WORLD!!! If you have not listened to the new album...DO IT! "HAIL TO THE KING" A7X foREVer!

If you were one of the lucky ones who happened to catch the Sevendust-Lacuna Coil- and Avatar show at the Dixie Dance Hall here in Beaumont then you will know why I am blown away by this Amazing band from Gothenburg, Sweden.
I have seen a lot of bands and listen to a lot of different music on a daily basis and it is fewin far between that a band actually captures my attention as this band has done to where I can say "I LOVE this Band" and I do..I Love Avatar!
They are more than your average death metal band, they are far above average and are on their own level with not only an amazing sound, but a stage presencethat has it's own theatrics of wonderment.
To be honest, sometimes when i hear that a band is death metal...I get turned off and think.."Great...headache city"...not with theis band....hard..yes..they are hard...they bring the metal balls....like no other.
If you can do me one favor, I urge you to listen to Avatar's latest album BLACK WALTZ...you will then fully understand where I am coming from. You do not just listen to Avatar, you become one with the music. it draws you in.
I can honestly say, I have added another favorite band to my list Avatar. Listen to them, and email me what you think.
